Dan's 21st!
Due to the fact that I was drinking, I didn't take as many photos as usual, but I had fun, and hopefully other had fun as well. Time management not being my forte (as most of you can probably attest to), Pete, Jus and myself show up around 9.30 (about an hour late), so you could say the party didn't really start until then, but it looked like everybody was having fun. Of course, as is the case for like the last bajillion birthdays, I was the one to go present shopping this time, but with Dan being a relatively likeminded soul, it was an easy task. We got him, all his favourites...anime (FLCL), manga (Naruto! Springtime of youth ninjas!), a gift voucher for Games Workshop, a carton of assorted beers (mandatory really), and a special compilation, "the Best of Stroke and Thrust", a delctably entertaining hardocre gay porn mag,ROFLOLMAYOSAURUSJHDJHDGJHG...I've been threatening it for ages, but that day, Dan, may he cherish that day forever, was blessed in that I finally put my foot down and bought the lucky birthday person some hardcore man on man...aHashAhahahAhahAhAhAhAhAhAhAhAhahaha...
However, looks like he really dug the presents (especially the porn), so hope you enjoyed them Danny boy!
Anyway, I'm all shopped out, so hopefully SOMEONE else can go shopping for presents next time, lest you want to take the risk of me buying something wholly inappropriate (well..again) like giant novelty sex aids or a couple lines of Columbia's finest..

NEW POPE
This about 10mins ago... Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger from Germany is the new Bishop of Rome, henceforth known as Pope Benedict XVI. Pope John Paul's right hand man, it's no real surprise that he was elected as Pope, and of course shares the same conservative nature of his predecessor. While no real surprise to me, I for one am disappointed with the choice of pope, since with Ratzinger's election all hope that the Church might actually take a step forward for one of the few times in its almost 2000 year history is gone. I'm not going to say anything further until I think about this some more, but I don't think my opinions will make me a very popular person.
Ben's party
As most of you are aware, Ben had his 21st last saturday. Faced with the decision of staying at home to watch 4 hours of unadulterated softcore porn, or go to Ben's party, it was a bit of a no brainer to choose. However, my parents stayed home, so I had to go to Ben's party. Well, I consoled myself with the knowledge that I could watch softcore porn anytime, while hitting on Ben's sister wouldn't be so convenient. I came late (real reason, family dinner), so I missed the speeches, but I'm sure they were all about how awesome I am, as well as good looking, though Ben might've been mentioned somewhere in those speeches. Having driven there, I stayed sober that night, which suited me fine, so I took some photos...enjoy!
P.S We got Ben a LOTR trilogy extended special edition XP professional director's cut or some incredibly ludicrous name for ir, as well as a metal Aragorn figure, plus the obligatory carton of beer. Looks like he loved it, so mission successful!...This weekend, Dan's 21st...I think I shall get righteously drunk this time round.
P.P.S - I'm organizing a pub crawl this friday, where we shall engage in drunken antics in Perth. Pete thinks that we should pretend we're having a buck's night out, with me as the
sucker happily engaged fiance and Pete as my best man..good idea? probably not. Are we going to do it? I'm hoping..hell yes :P

Ben's 21st is this Saturday, and since NO ONE has bothered to try and organise a present, looks like it'll be me. Again. As usual. Dan and I had a preliminary look today and we couldn't really find anything (cues snide remark like "You spent too much time looking in Club X"), so I'll have to try and find something with Dom tomorrow. I've been really busy doing an assignment so I've only just uploaded the photos tonight. I'm not going to bother with a description because, frankly, I have 2 tests coming up so I don't have the time. However, I had a lot of fun, despite the noticeable absence of Dan and Cor (and Ange, though apparently she DID come), so much so that I stayed sober most of the night.
